Business Development Lead , Water & Sanitation for the Urban Poor (WSUP)


We are seeking a visionary Business Development Lead for WSUP Zambia with strong management, commercial awareness, new product development and business knowledge ideally in WASH programme implementation, experienced in both urban water and sanitation delivery. The ideal candidate will have experience of and a passion for social enterprise and will lead the business aspects of our programme in Zambia. The role will report to the Zambia Country Programme Manager and the Programme Director. The role will involve working closely with the WSUP programmes in Zambia, with the initial year of the contract focusing in Lusaka on a Bill & Melinda Gates Foundation (BMGF) funded programme. S/he will demonstrate passion, entrepreneurial spirit and an empathy with WSUP’s aims and value. This is a demanding role that requires a high calibre, dedicated leader with a deep commitment to tackling the pressing problems in the WASH sector from a business perspective, particularly in low-income settings.
WSUP offers a competitive compensation package (gross monthly) from 25,000 ZMW based on relevant experience including other admissible organisational benefits like insurance, gratuity, bonus, leave encashment etc.

WSUP is a non-profit partnership between the private sector, NGOs and research institutions focused on solving the global problem of inadequate water and sanitation in low-income urban communities. WSUP brings lasting solutions to low-income areas by working in partnership with service providers including water utilities, local authorities and businesses, and the communities they serve. WSUP strengthens the capacity of service providers to deliver sustainable city-wide water and sanitation services, promote good hygiene and raise the environmental standards of low-income communities.

Salary:25,000 ZMW gross monthlyFull-time, fixed-term contract until December 2017
