HEAVY VEHICLE MECHANIC (6)
SUMMARY OF QUALIFICATIONS
- More than five years’ experience.
- Great understanding of the full range of procedures and techniques used with servicing, repairing and maintaining vehicles and equipment such as heavy trucks, drill rigs and related equipment and accessories.
- Profound ability identifying and resolving the full range of problems associated with the work including determining the nature and extent of malfunction or damage
- Excellent ability to identify the full range of risks and liability implications associated with the work and take appropriate action to minimize those risks and refer organizational liabilities to supervisor.
- Great understanding of established safety practices and equipment care procedures and demonstrated ability to instruct others in such practices and procedures.
- Remarkable understanding of the operation of and skill in the use of the various tools, materials, and equipment used in the repair and maintenance of plant machinery and keeps current with industry changes.
- Immense ability in the repair and maintenance of complex mechanical, electrical, hydraulic and pneumatic power systems.
- Exceptional ability to prioritize own work and meet project and program deadlines.
- Proven ability to assist in the planning, coordination, and monitoring of projects and programs in assigned area of responsibility.
Requirements
- Proven working experience as Heavy Duty Mechanic
- Diploma or Technician Certificate in Heavy Equipment Repair
- Knowledge of Cat, Liebherr, Volvo and Bell machines is an added advantage
- Aptitude in decision-making and working with others
- Strong leadership capabilities
- Age limit: 30-45 years
- Minimum 5 years hands on experience
- Fully paid up member of the Engineering Institute of Zambia
