Society for Family Health (SFH) seeks an experienced individual for the position of District Program Officer who will lead the District Self-Testing in Africa (STAR) project teams by providing clarity of vision and prioritisation of activities and resources; He /she will provide guidance to the detailers and the Community Based Distributors (CBDs) as well as together set priorities and strategies on implementation of the STAR project. Should be able to inspire and support staff and ensure that they are motivated towards achieving project objectives.
Key responsibilities:
- Lead the execution of the STAR project activities across the district in order to maximize health impact and resource utilization and to ensure delivery of quality health services in line with established deliverables.
- In liaison with the Regional Manager, represent SFH at district level meeting with to foster collaborative relationships for HIVST and to uphold a favorable image of SFH in the region.
- Develop and track required work plans and budgets and ensure implementation is in compliance with SFH rules and regulations.
- Produce monthly reports on program implementation and expenditure.
- Oversee the implementation of communications/promotional and sales/distribution activities in line with project strategies.
- Oversee the coordination of a sustainable supply chain management system to ensure that supplies, consumables and equipment are available for smooth operations.
- In liaison with the Regional Manager, conduct staff performance appraisals, identify performance gaps and draw up staff development plans in order to improve performance.
- Carry out any other duties as assigned by the supervisor.
Required Qualifications and Experience:
- Diploma in Nursing or Clinical Medicine (a degree in nursing and clinical medicine is an added advantage).
- Masters in Public Health is an added advantage
- 3 years management experience.
- Proven track record of increasing responsibility to oversee projects, including financial, human resource, compliance, and quality assurance components.
- In-depth knowledge of the MoH and provincial and district level public health environment.
- INGO experience strongly preferred
