CONSUMER SEGMENT EXECUTIVE , AIRTEL ZAMBIA


VACANCY: Consumer Segment Executive – Entry & Mid-range smartphone
LEVEL: 5
LOCATION: Lusaka
JOB PURPOSE
This role will be responsible for managing the entry & mid-level consumer segment of the business in ensuring revenue growth, customer growth and excellent service availability to customers.
REPORTING TO THE CONSUMER SEGMENTS MANAGER, THE MAIN REPSONSIBILITIS ARE;
Grow the smartphone penetration
  1. Acquisition & retention of entry & mid-range smartphone users
  2. Entry & mid-range smartphone forecasts to be reviewed with Consumer Segments Manager and shared with devices team for procurement
  3. Attractive offers/propositions for entry & mid-range smartphone users
  4. Managing the on-boarding process of customers from ULCH & Data ULCH segments into entry & mid-range smartphone segment
  5. Collecting consumer insights
  6. All device bundling for entry & mid-range smartphones – both Airtel & open market devices
Revenue growth from the smartphone base
  1. To grow revenue within the entry & mid-range smartphone base
  2. Implement bundling programs for the entry & mid-range smartphone segment and ensure of uptake based on agreed targets
  3. Partnerships identification (with relevant institutions such as retail, handset providers, Universities etc.) & develop programs around growing the entry & mid-range smartphone base
  4. Organizing regular engagement of entry & mid-range smartphone customer base to grow product revenue through lead generation and product upsell and ensuring that each of these events is profitable when assessed on an individual basis.
  5. Designing and developing customized retention and acquisition programs for the entry & mid-range smartphone segment
  6. Plan new customer hand holding tactics for revenue stimulation
  7. Develop a menu of initiatives/campaigns/products to aid in revenue generation month-on-month
Churn Management
  1. Monitor the level of activity on the entry & mid-range smartphone segment
  2. Implement targeted U&R promotions for the inactive customers in the entry & mid-range smartphone segment
Data Products
  1. Ensure all projects are carried out within approved budget, set timelines and according to agreed calendar
  2. Works on special projects and assignments as requested by the Brand and Communications Manager or Marketing Director
Financial Viability
  1. – Responsible for preparation of financial business case for all projects
  2. – Frequently monitoring of competitive products and services on the market
  3. – Develop and maintain competitive intelligence database
  4. –  Analyse markets to identify market trends and customer needs
  1. Product and Service Compliance
    1. – Ensure that launched data services meet quality assurance standards of Airtel Zambia, as well as revenue assurance standards.
REQUIREMENTS
  • Bachelors in Marketing, Business Administration, IT or any other commercial field
  • 3+ years of consumer insight experience in a commercial environment
  • 2+ years of relevant experience in Telecom and/or IT
  • 1 + years in handling a product development
PERSONAL BEHAVIOUR REQUIRED IN THE POST.
  • Excellent and effective communications skills, both orally and in writing
