Job Purpose:
To ensure that oversight is provided for the efficient and effective production/construction of quality houses and works.
Key Performance
Activities
Quality assurance and cost control
- Monitor construction works i.e. new works, renovations and repairs and supervise builders.
- Prepare work plans for supervision of works in all site locations.
- Give oversight to builders and provide guidance.
- Ensuring construction targets are met as per approved work plan and budgets.
- Provide technical solutions to structural problems and technical assessment on condition of existing houses and provide recommendation.
- Conduct training for builders on the housing quality standards including required proportions of building materials.
- Undertake audits of construction works in terms of status, quality and material usage.
- Ensure that the standards of work and materials supplied are according to specifications (in the drawings) and standards.
- In conjunction with the Clerk of Works and or delegated officer and the Local Authorities in ensuring that the house designs and buildings standards are in conformity with the local authority and the laws of the land.
Planning
- Carry out feasibility studies on all new sites and advise accordingly.
- Oversee site preparations in terms of citing of dwelling houses and toilet slabs, excavations, material delivery and storage.
- Work planning including scope of works for builders.
- Coordinate the taking of inventory of tools before and after a build so as to prepare for builds and to secure tools.
Training
- Map out training needs for construction staff, builders (i.e. local contractors- construction techniques) and Home owners (house maintenance).
- Review and revise existing training materials.
- Prepare new training materials.
- Facilitate and conduct construction works.
- Perform any other duties as may be assigned in line with the job requirements.
Reporting
- Site reports on a weekly, monthly and quarterly basis.
- Maintain records of every construction site and be in touch with the respective builders.

Skills Requirements
- Knowledge of relevant software ; MS Project etc
- Ability to Plan and Manage projects
- Ability to oversee assigned construction related activities
- Responsible for Quality Control and Cost Control on assigned construction works
- Preparation of building sites in conjunction with the homeowners.
- Good organizational, communication, and analytical skills a necessity
- Ability to deal with stress & meet deadlines
- Must be willing to work long hours
- Must be willing to live in a RURAL AREA.

Experience Required
- 2 years working experience preferably in the construction industry.
Educational Requirement
- Minimum of a Diploma in Construction Management, Diploma in Architecture, Civil Engineering or Building Science or any other related qualification.

- Valid Driver’s Licence
- Computer Literate and ability to write detailed reports
- Ability to speak ANY of the following local languages is a MUST: Lozi, Mbunda, Chokwe, Swahili, Lunda, Luvale, Sinyarwanda, Kikaonde, Nkoya, Mbundu, and Nyanja.
