The incumbent will manage the supply chain and commercial function through planning, organizing and controlling to ensure availability of right material and services at right time and right price from quality vendors in compliance with the ISO 14001 standards.
The key responsibilities include:
- To lead the procurement & stores function at Business Unit level and responsibility for delivery of efficient and effective commercial support to operations and delivery of team’s targets.
- To plan and direct an effective implementation of the programme for managing the IBU Supply function in line with corporate and IBU policies and objectives to ensure smooth and un-interrupted operations.
- To Monitor stock movements and levels and on – order situation for economic commitment of funds and to minimize stock-out situation in order to sustain production.
- Control and monitor purchasing function for economic price/Quantities and ensure effective expediting of outstanding commitments in line with cash management requirements.
- Preparation and control of departmental budget to ensure that the supply function is organized to achieve its objectives in the most effective and economic way and responsive to challenges emanating from the operating department.
- Stores management at IBU level including physical verification of material, proper stacking, safety, security etc
- Maintain and share understanding of market intelligence, Industry best practices and technology trends with team members and business partners.
- Developing and driving initiatives for alternate products, OPM sourcing, vendor development and cost reduction.
Desired Skills and Experience
- Bachelor of Engineering or Chartered Accountant. or Master of Business Administration advantage with 10 to 12 years relevant working experience in commercial function.
- Excellent interpersonal and negotiation skills.
- Must have sound knowledge in SAP MM and SRM module and MS office
- Excellent knowledge of corporate policies and procedures, coupled with ability to identify required improvement to established policies.
- Excellent analytical and communication skills. Good presentation, leadership and team-building skills. Use of independent judgment and creativity applied to resolution of contract issues.
