Job Title: Logistics Assistant
Reporting to: People and Operations Manager (POM)
Job Purpose: To proactively support the POM in providing comprehensive administration and logistical support to the VSO Zambia Programme Office, and where necessary to provide driving services.
Key Responsibilities
Key responsibilities will include Coordination of stock controls, undertaking local logistical duties requiring expertise such as immigration, bank operations, collection of procurement proforma invoices, ensuring timely servicing and repair of vehicles and equipment. S/he will monitor vehicle safety and usage, coordinating fleet movements in response to daily, country-wide and specific VSO events’ logistical needs. The person will also be responsible for making travel arrangements for staff, volunteers and program visitors, coordinating flights and ensuring that appropriate accommodation is booked on time.
The Essential requirements for this post are:
- A minimum of a Diploma in Business Administration, Logistics management or related field
- Basic knowledge of Vehicle maintenance, Stores management and Donor procurement procedures
- Good knowledge of computer applications such as Microsoft Word, Excel and Outlook
- Experience of working in a sensitive multi-cultural organisation
- Good written and verbal communication skills and strong attention to detail
- Clean Valid Driving Licence
- Good interpersonal skills
