JTI Leaf Zambia Limited (JTI) is a tobacco leaf subsidiary of Japan Tobacco Incorporated, a leading international tobacco product manufacturer operating in 120 countries. Operating in Zambia since 2010, JTI has operations ¡n Chipata, Kaoma and Lusaka where it supports and procures tobacco leaf from over 7,000 small scale and commercial farmers.
JTI invites applications from suitably qualified and experienced people to fill the following vacant position in Zambia:
EHS Supervisor (x1 Kaoma)
Position Purpose:
Reporting to the Leaf Operations Services Manager, the EHS Supervisor will:
- Ensure compliance with local EHS and legislation for all warehouse and office locations: develop plans, procedures and systems for working towards JTI EHS standards for the Zambia premises.
- Conduct regular site visits for Safety Audits and Risk assessments aimed at hazard identification and control.
- Collect, investigate and evaluate all cases of accidents and pollution to make recommendations to ensure no repeats.
- Coordinate occupational health surveillance and monitor prevalence of occupational diseases
- Keep records of inspections, findings and compile weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual statistical and performance, reports that show trends and highlight opportunities for continual improvement.
- Implementation of EHS programs for a safe, healthy and environmentally sustainable workplace.
Education
- Degree or Diploma in Occupational Health, Safety and Environment
Experience
- 2 Years in similar position
- Computer Skills & Languages
- Proficient in Microsoft office
- Fluent in both written and spoken English
- Fluency in Nyanja or Lozi is an added advantage
