VISITING PROFESSOR PROGRAMME – for excellence and mutual knowledge exchange

The international Visiting Professor Programme at the School of Business, Economics and Law, enables a large number of visiting professors from all over the world to contribute to excellence and innovation in research and teaching. The programme is characterised by mutual knowledge exchange which benefits individual researchers and students while contributing to a challenging and creative academic environment.
The programme is the product of cooperation between leading businesses in Sweden and the School of Business, Economics and Law at the University of Gothenburg. It is based on the understanding that excellence in research and teaching will make a long-term contribution to regional economic development. In additon, the programme serves the aim of building up strategic partnerships with a number of research environments and universities throughout the world.
The visiting professors are contracted for up to three years and typically work at the School one month per term. Since the launch of the previous program in 2009, more than 30 international professors have co-authored research papers with School faculty members, established new international research co-operations and contributed to teaching at all levels within the School, including the School’s Executive MBA.
By the end of 2015 we plan to recruit 10 internationally renowned professors of which at least 5 will be women. For more information please contact programme coordinator Robin Biddulph, robin.biddulph@geography.gu.se , tel. +46 31 786 1397, see also www.handels.gu.se/vpp
