Public Service Pensions Fund Board (PSPFB) is a creation under the Public Service Pensions Act CAP 260 of the Laws of Zambia, mandated to control and administer the Fund in accordance with sound business practices. PSPFB seeks to recruit an exceptional individual who is outstanding, results oriented and highly motivated to fill the position of SENIOR FINANCIAL ACCOUNTANT (MS 4).

JOB PURPOSE

To maintain complete and proper records of the Funds revenue, expenditure, assets and liabilities while ensuring the accuracy and integrity of financial information.

MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Preparation of the Financial Statements.
2. Maintain and update the General Ledger and Fixed Asset Register.
3. Ensure that the Cash Books are updated.
4. Ensure that all statutory returns are timely prepared.
5. Preparing Accounts Schedules for audit purposes
6. Verifying and making payments of Pension Benefits and Fund Administration transactions.
7. Management and implementation of the Accounting Policies, Procedures and Processes.
8. Undertaking month end and year end closure Financial Accounts.
9. Supervising staff in the Financial Accounting function.

QUALIFICATIONS

1. Full Grade Twelve Certificate with Credit or better in English and Mathematics
2. Diploma in Accountancy with full ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, CPA or ZICA Professional or University Degree in Accountancy the full ACCA, CIMA, CIPFA, CPA, or ZICA Professional
3. Member of the Zambia Institute of Chartered Accountants

SKILLS AND COMPETENCIES REQUIRED

1. At least 3 years post qualification relevant experience.
2. Must be computer literate and have the knowledge of Computer Based Accounting Systems.
3. Strong Excel skills.
4. Must have good interpersonal skills
5. Must be honest
6. Must possess exceptional oral and writing skills
7. Excellent numerical and computational skills
8. Must pay particular attention to detail
9. Self-starter
10. Good organisational skills
11. Must possess good management skills
