NUTRITION OFFICER , Concern Worldwide Zambia


Concern Worldwide Zambia is an International NGO, working in Zambia since 2002. Concern’s Programmes focus on the extreme poor and work to improve nutrition, increase agricultural production, empower women and promote livelihood security and resilience in Central and Western Provinces. Gender equality and HIV & AIDS are mainstreamed within all Concern’s programmes.
We are currently recruiting for the position of Nutrition Officer for our RAIN (Realigning Agriculture to Improve Nutrition) Project in Mumbwa, Central province.  We welcome applications from qualified women as they are currently under represented in Concern Worldwide Zambia.
Nutrition Officer (Ref: NO081401)
The post holder will be responsible for coordinating the nutrition component of the RAIN/+ project at field level by developing, implementing and fine-tuning nutrition education including the nutrition BCC strategy and providing on-going support to Community Health Volunteers and our partner staff in the implementation of this component.
Requirements:
  • Diploma in food and nutrition minimum, with a Bachelor’s degree in Public Health or Nutrition
  • A least a year of demonstrable experience as a technical staff in nutrition with 3 or more years an advantage.
  • Proven experience in implementing a behaviour change communication (BCC) package in nutrition.
  • Proven experience in conducting training on infant and young child feeding.
  • Proven experience working with the Government and NGOs.
  • Good understanding of linkages between gender, agriculture and nutrition
  • Excellent report writing skills in English
  • Excellent facilitation and networking skills
  • Ability to speak any of the following local language desirable, Nyanja, Ila, Tonga or lenje.
